People place orders at the Southern Comfort Food Truck while most of the larger crowd dispersed peacefully.

3:37 p.m.

University Plaza's parking lot on Cherry St. is full of protesters with signs that read "Vote out hate," "Say their names" and "No justice. No peace," as people continue to chant. 

3:26 p.m.

While the Southern Comfort Food Truck will not be serving food until 4 p.m., protesters continue to hold up their signs to drivers passing by on S. Water St. 

3:12 p.m.

The protesters travel down Water St. chanting "Black Lives Matter" as they march on the sidewalk. A new chant also starts, "Hey, hey, ho, ho, racist cops have got to go." Cars and trucks passing by continue to beep in solidarity with the protesters. 

3:05 p.m.

The march continues down Haymaker Parkway to the Southern Comfort Food Truck to support a black-owned business. 

2:53 p.m.

Protesters engage in a moment of silence for George Floyd outside the Kent Police Department. 

2:41 p.m.

Protesters gather at the Kent Police Department as Tayjua Hines, president of Black United Students, address the crowd.

2:36 p.m. 

Protesters gather outside the Kent Police Department and chant, "No justice. No peace. No racist ass police."

2:33 p.m.

The march approaches the Kent Police Department. 

2:22 p.m. 

As the march begins, organizers tell the crowd to stay off the streets. The march will break at the Kent Police Department for more speakers to come. 

2:13 p.m.

As the organizers speak to the crowd, they are reiterating that this is a peaceful march.

2:05 p.m.

The crowd has doubled itself and there looks to be approximately 200 people. Some signs held by participants include "Black Trans Lives Matter," "ACAB" and "Defund the Police." 

1:50 p.m.

Cars are honking as they drive down main street passing the protest. The march has yet to begin, people are still arriving. 

1:42 p.m.

A large group of protesters gathers by the rock on the front of campus, painted with "Black Lives Matter," "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" and "ACAB." People are putting cases of water by the rock as well as a table of snacks for protesters. 

1:00 p.m.
