University police are searching for a male suspect who allegedly touched a man inappropriately in the Mathematical Sciences Building elevator on Kent State's main campus according to a university advisory sent through email and Flash Alerts texts Tuesday.
The victim and suspect both entered the elevator Monday, Oct. 11 around 12:30 p.m., when the suspect reportedly placed his hand on the buttocks of the victim before exiting the elevator on a different floor, according to the advisory.
The suspect is described as a roughly 6-foot-tall white male, weighing over 200 pounds and in his mid-to-late 20s. Police said he was last seen wearing glasses and a teal-colored shirt.
The university police department learned of the incident today, Oct. 12, the advisory stated. Police requested the public’s help in finding the suspect and asked for anyone with information to call Kent State Police at 330-672-3070 to report it.
“Police are increasing their patrols in the area of the incident,” the advisory stated.
Students with concerns about traveling alone on and near campus can request a safety escort at 330-672-7004.
