Kent State gymnastics had its first loss since the opening season as the team lost its second Mid-American Conference meet to Ball state, 194.575-194.450.

Freshman Rachel Decavitch got the individual bars title and scored a career-high 9.875 in bars and junior Nasha Manitkul-Davis won the individual vault title with a score of 9.775. 

Senior Jade Brown and junior Abby Fletcher tied for second [9.850] on the floor exercise. Senior Sarah McCarty and freshman Karlie Franz each scored a 9.800 and tied for fifth. 

DeCavitch and Franz tied for second place on vault with a score of 9.750.

The team will host the annual Pink Meet against Bowling Green, Ursinus and the College at Brockport on Friday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. at the M.A.C. Center.
