The Kent State lacrosse team dropped to 0-4 with a loss to the University of Cincinnati.

The Flashes took a 2-1 lead to start the game. 

But the Bearcats would go on a 14-point run to make it 15-2 midway through the second period.

KSU would score three straight goals to end the 15-5 loss. 

Five different players would score during the Cincinnati run. Senior midfielder Alyssa Adams led the Bearcats with five goals. 

The Flashes fall to 0-4 on the season, and the Bearcats improve to 2-2. 

For the fourth straight game, KSU was outshot at the goal, this time 23-10. 

Junior midfielder Madison Rapier had two goals. Junior midfielder Abby Jones had one goal and one assist. Jones and Rapier have both scored in all four of the Flashes games. 

Sophomore midfielder Lexi Piekarski and junior midfielder Pilar Lewis scored their first goals of the season for KSU. 

KSU’s defense has allowed an average of 18 goals per game this season while the offense is only scoring an average of around 7 goals per game. 

For the first time this season the Flashes lost the draw control battle by less than double-digits, losing it 12-10. 

Freshman goalkeeper Taylor Monturo made her first start and allowed 14 goals and seven saves with a save percentage of .333.

The Flashes next will play Akron, which is 2-1, on Saturday.
