A letter from the editor

The Daily Kent Stater and the Features staff are pleased to bring you the 2nd annual Best of Kent Awards. With a fresh downtown scene bustling with new businesses, we have a lot of new locations on this list. Of course we also have the oldies but goodies. Kent has a strong foundation of tradition, which might be why Kent’s oldest bar won the most awards two years in a row. Our city is full of trademark destinations — Ray’s Place, Wild Goats, Scribbles Coffee Company, Mike’s Place — that end up on people’s must-go-to lists and keep alumni coming back. This is your chance to tell us what you love most about the city of Kent. We want to know where you’re going, what you’re listening to and what you tell your out-of-town friends about when they come to visit. It’s also a fun way to track the ever-evolving changes occurring here year-by-year. This issue is jam-packed with your picks. It’s a KSUBuzz for you, by you. I hope you have as much fun reading this issue as we had putting it together.
